The first floor lower lobby is now available for use. The lower lobby was phase one of the 2024/2025 renovation of Gibson D. Lewis Library building. Visitors can easily access the HSC Regional Simulation Center and the second floor lobby using these stairs.
The first floor lobby break and study area includes updated kitchenette amenities, including a water faucet and sink, three microwaves, and a water/ice dispenser.
Underneath the staircase, you’ll see wraparound bench seating with extra electrical outlets. Also, the Java Lab has a temporary location near the stairwell for your convenience. The JavaLab will return to the second floor lobby after renovations are completed on the upper floor.
Check It Out!
HSC patrons are now able to access the official self-checkout area again. As usual, please use your HSC badge to gain access into that area.
Lewis Library Lockers are still located in LIB-225 until the second floor lobby is complete.
The Book Return drop box has been relocated to the second floor outside LIB-225.
LIB 225 Re-opened
LIB 225 is open again as a study space. Patrons can also continue to pick up their holds from the locker system, which is temporarily located in 225.
It’s a Matter of Choice
The front entrance doors to the Lewis Library are now fully operational again. Visitors can also continue to use the entranceway next to the elevators at the south end of the building. Some closings will be necessary through December.
Directional signage will guide you to our various library services, as locations need to be closed and later re-opened due to renovation work.
Please note: The Lewis Library will be closed overnight from 11 PM to 4 AM — Thursday, November 14 to Friday, November 15.
