Pharos Printing, Copying, and Scanning

We provide multi-function devices for computer printing and photocopying jobs, as well as scanning documents and sending them to e-mail. The Pharos print management system controls these functions and an account must be created before using the equipment. NOTE: You need to be on-campus or use VPN to use Pharos.

Payment Portal

Load money onto your Pharos account using the new payment portal!

Lewis Library staff will process payments at 10:00 A.M. every day and will notify patrons when their money is loaded onto their Pharos account.

Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for funds to be available for printing.

  • For a fee, we will supply print or electronic copies of journal articles and book chapters. See document delivery for more information about this service.
  • We can make digital copies of other types of materials.
Pharos Accounts & Pricing
  • Individual and departmental accounts are available.
  • Accounts are created by library personnel for all UNTHSC students, and for others upon request.
  • For new departmental accounts, submit a completed Interdepartmental Transfer for Copy / Print Account (pdf) for any amount in one-dollar increments ($1, $2, $3, etc.).
  • Payment must be made at the service desk. Checks, MasterCard, VISA, and Discover are accepted.
  • Account issues can be resolved by library staff.
  • Refunds are issued only for mechanical failures and withdrawn students. See the Policy on PHAROS Copy/Print Account Refunds and Closures (pdf) for more information.
  • There is currently no charge for scanning to e-mail.
  • To avoid default charges for printing, be sure the document size is set correctly. If a document does not match one of the standard sizes (A4, Letter (8 ½ x 11), Legal (8 ½ x 14), or Ledger (11 x 17)), it will be charged at 25 cents per side (color or black and white).
  • Copies and prints are charged as follows:

We provide Canon multi-function devices for Pharos printing/copying/scanning on each level of the library and other locations on campus.

The Pharos Print app is available for Apple and Android devices. Download and install the app from iTunes or Google Play.

Access MyPrintCenter and enter your Pharos username and password.

Printing from a Computer
  • Color printing
    Five Pharos release stations are equipped for printing or copying in full color -- two on the main floor of the library, one on the 1st floor of IREB, one in RES, and one on Level 2 of the MET building.
  • One-sided printing
    Pharos produces two-sided documents by default. Reset the Print Properties (on the Finishing tab) before sending your print job if you want one-sided prints.
  • Large paper
    All of the multifunction devices connected to the Pharos system are equipped for printing or copying on 8 ½ x 14 (legal) or 11 x 17 (ledger) paper. The default paper size is 8 ½ x 11 (letter).

Photocopying
  • Color copying and printing
